To aid navigation, this map shows small islands, shoals and reefs, maritime routes for use during monsoons or at particular times of the year, bathymetry (sea depth), tide information, shipwrecks, compass roses and landmark mountains at the coasts.

This map of mainland Southeast Asia is divided into colour-coded regions. The Birman Empire (Myanmar) is the most detailed, with internal regions, rivers including the Irrawaddy, mountains and settlements marked.

This 17th century map of Asia is based on a map by the Dutch cartographer Frederik de Wit (c. 1629–1706). The text is in the original Latin, except for the title which has been changed to English. The original cartouche has also been retained.
